Samling Scholarship and Bursary Programme

Samling Group of Companies is Malaysia’s premier wood-based group, creating value from sustainable forest management and wood product manufacturing in Malaysia and abroad. We also have major interests in areas such as oil palm plantations, forest plantations and property development.

Samling Global Limited grant annual scholarships to students with outstanding academic credentials and leadership potential, to enrich the talent and skills force in the countries in which Samling operate.

Since the scholarship programme began in Malaysia in 2000, Samling have provided over RM800,000 to about 30 students attending local universities who pursued studies in areas relevant to Samling’s forestry operations.

Fields of Study
Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agricultural Science (from University Putra Malaysia only), Forestry Science, Wood Science Technology, Biology and Management of Vector & Parasites, Business Information System

Eligibility

  • Malaysian citizens
  • Students with outstanding results in SPM and/or STPM seeking admission to local universities
  • Students with excellent academic results currently enrolled in a local university
  • Possess excellent communication skills, dynamic personality and holding leadership positions in extra-curricular activities
  • Must not be recipient of a scholarship given by any other organisations
  • Sarawakians and Sabahans are encouraged to apply

Value of Scholarship
RM7,500 per academic year
