The National Precision Engineering Scholarship 2010

The National Precision Engineering Scholarship (NPES) is awarded by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and SPRING Singapore for studies in the Diploma in Digital & Precision Engineering at Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP). This scholarship programme will prepare the scholars to become key players in Singapore's growing Precision Engineering & Manufacturing Industries. Scholars will be able to pursue lucrative careers in the following sectors:

• Biomedical Manufacturing
• Aerospace Manufacturing
• Mould Design & Simulation
• Precision Component Design & Manufacturing

Eligibility

• Holders of SPM / STPM.
• Applicant must have outstanding academic results and good co-curricular records.
• Must not have secured any other scholarships.

Value of Scholarship

• Total course fees for the Diploma in Digital & Precision Engineering
• A monthly allowance of S$800/- for the 3-year duration of the course of study
• Opportunity to be supported for a fully-paid up to 6 months overseas attachment programme to either Germany, Switzerland, Holland or Japan.

Bonding
On completion of their studies in the Diploma in Digital & Precision Engineering, scholars will have to serve a bond with Economic Development Board (EDB) working in one of the Precision Engineering and Manufacturing Industry. The duration of the bond is 3 years for Singaporeans and 5 years for Foreigners.

Applicant must submit an application through JPAE online application and choose the Diploma in Digital & Precision
Engineering (DPE) as one of the choices.
Completed scholarship application form together with the printout of the JPAE online application form, photocopies of
the examination result slips/CCA records and other supporting documents (if any), are to be

Shortlisted applicant will be informed to attend an interview in Singapore on 24–March-2010.
