JAL Scholarship Programme 2009

The JAL Foundation and Japan Airlines (JAL)proudly invites all Malaysian undergraduates and postgraduates to take part in the JAL Scholarship Programme 2009. This annual programme brings together scholars from Malaysia, Australia, China, Indonesia, Korea, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

The JAL Scholarship Programme 2009 will run from June 29 to July 15 in Japan and consists of five major components:

• Lectures for Globally Minded Citizens
• Field Trips
• Students Sessions
• Asia Forum Symposium
• Homestays

Eligibility
Interested candidates are required to have an interest in Japan and be willing to experience Japanese culture and customs. A strong command of English is essential.

Applicants must submit an essay (600 words or less) based on the theme ‘International Cooperation – My view on its achievement and drawbacks’. In relation to the theme, your essay should focus on your own opinions and thoughts, and be related to your own experiences.

Selected scholars will then receive sponsorship in terms of air travel (JAL economy return class tickets to Tokyo), insurance, accommodation, meals and domestic transportation within Japan.
