Central Institute of Hindi scholarship 2010-11

The Kendirya Hindi Sansthan (Central Institute of Hindi), Agra, has invited applications from Malaysians interested in learning Hindi through scholarship for the academic year 2010-11, which is from 01 August 2010 to 30 April 2011.

The Central Institute of Hindi (Kendriya Hindi Sansthan ) was established in 1962 It is an autonomous organization of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and is governed by the Central Board of Hindi Teaching (Kendriya Hindi Shikshan Mandal). Besides facilitation of Hindi Teaching-Training and higher studies in Hindi language and literature and comparative linguistics, its aim is promotion and propagation of Hindi at the national and international levels. The Institute has designed courses for teachers of non-Hindi speaking States as well as for countries like Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.

Eligibility
The candidate should be between 21 to 35 years and should have studied Hindi for at least 1 or 2 years. They should have also completed STPM or equivalent. Relaxation in the upper age limit is possible in special cases.

Note: The candidate should be willing to stay in Agra for the full academic term.

Value of Scholarship
The candidate selected for scholarship will be granted admission by the institute at its headquarters at Agra. The institute would also make efforts to provide hostel accommodation to the selected candidate on nominal charges. The selected candidate would receive a monthly scholarship of Rs.3500/- and also a books grant of Rs.1000/- per annum. The amount spent for medical treatment at a government hospital or a hospital recognised by the institute is reimbursable.

Stay in hostel and joining the mess is compulsory. Candidates must note that only pure vegetarian food will be served in the hostel. Private cooking in residential rooms is prohibited.

The air-fare by economy class on both ways, by the shortest route for the selected candidate will be provided by the Institute. It is not permissible to allow any candidates to go back without completing the full academic term. The students must undertake to return to their country after the completion of their studies.

How to Apply
The applications should be enclosed with copies of bio-data, photographs, physical fitness, academic certificates and other relevant documents in support of the application such as the copy of the applicant’s passport, birth certificate, character / conduct certificate from the Head of Institution last attended.
